Key Responsibilities:
Website Development: Design, develop, and deploy websites and web applications using front-end and back-end technologies. Create interactive and responsive web interfaces that provide an optimal user experience across different devices and screen sizes.
Front-end Development: Implement user interface designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. Ensure visual consistency, accessibility, and browser compatibility of web pages.
Back-end Development: Build server-side logic and databases using programming languages like Python, PHP, Ruby, or Node.js. Develop RESTful APIs, database schemas, and server-side scripts to support dynamic website functionality.
Content Management Systems (CMS): Customize and extend CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla to meet specific project requirements. Develop custom themes, plugins, and modules to enhance CMS functionality and design.
Database Management: Design and optimize database structures for storing and retrieving data efficiently. Use relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB as per project needs.
Integration and APIs: Integrate third-party APIs and web services to add functionalities such as payment processing, social media integration, or geolocation services. Develop and consume APIs for data exchange between web applications and external systems.
Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of websites and web applications to identify and fix issues. Debug code, troubleshoot problems, and perform browser compatibility testing to ensure consistent performance across different platforms.
Security Considerations: Implement security best practices to protect web applications from common vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and CSRF attacks. Use encryption, authentication, and authorization techniques to safeguard user data and prevent unauthorized access.
Performance Optimization: Optimize website performance by improving page load times, minimizing resource usage, and implementing caching mechanisms. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix to analyze and optimize website speed and performance.
Documentation and Maintenance: Create technical documentation including code comments, API documentation, and user guides. Provide ongoing maintenance and support for websites, including updates, security patches, and bug fixes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/libraries like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Strong understanding of back-end development concepts and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Ruby, or Node.js.
Experience with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Agile development methodologies.
